Re: Steering Wheel Removal
There is no substitute for having the correct tooling, I read on here guys using cheapo gear pullers and homemade jobs,
I don't cobble things together to save a buck, I found a correct style puller and it performed flawlessly and most important, NOTHING WAS DAMAGED
Here is my factory correct puller:

Re: Steering Wheel Removal
Nice demo with the correct tool-your steering wheel still has the nice grooves/rings...Mine wasn't too bad to remove without the correct tool-about three weeks of soaking,spraying,tugging,cussing...

Re: Steering Wheel Removal
The Puller originated in WWII and is issued for the later M-Series Trucks such as 1/4 Ton M-38, 3/4 Ton M-37, and the 2-12 Ton 6X6 M-35 and also the 800 and 900 series trucks. They came in a Metal tool box with three different adaptors for the different size columns and shafts..
I may have some NOS left.

Re: Steering Wheel Removal
When you reinstall the steering wheel, use a little anti-seize on the splines, it will help prevent them from rusting together in the future.
