Brake lining/shoe adjusting.
Days ago I was running and stop my gee,did a test through handtouch in all drums. My brake pedal is with excessive travel. The left front was normal hot,but the others were all cold.First a decided to adjust only the TOP in each that were cold, not the HEEL.The pedal decreased the travel. After a good running I will decide if I have to adjust the HEEL too.Does exist a manner to be sure if the linings won't wear uneven?Only dismounting?

Re: Brake lining/shoe adjusting.
There is a published method that has past the test of time.
Heel then toe.
Set all adjustments to maximum clearance. Then, using an .008 flat feeler gauge through the slot on the outer edge of the brake drum, drum turned so the gauge is one inch from the edge of the brake pad, adjust the clearnce.
Then go to the top and do the same thing. Do this on each shoe and always do the heel first.

Like Wolfman said, make sure you use a feeler gauge per the manual, if you only adjust the top, you cannot be sure that the shoes are centered in the drums. The heel needs .005", the toe gets .008"
