ford hoods

Post by old arkie » Sat Jun 07, 2014 8:12 am

I noted that a sale posting for a ford hood mentions that no drain hole were on it on the back bracing metal and that caused some rust. I have 3 ford hood none with a drain hole The one on my august 42 gpw which is the original has no holes so if there were drains on the cross piece where are they and are they round and what size?????? A question that seeks an answer

The drain holes for the rear hat channel on the Ford hood is formed at the very end of the curved hat channel at the rear most lower lip on the inside of the hood. They are not drilled holes, merely a formed opening (a bumped out area if you will) in the flattened end of the hat channel at each side of the hood. The lip is the bent edge of the hood that meets the top of the fenders.
