Does anyone know when the Schwarze horn was used on the MB's? I see in Lloyds book (pg 213) that they were used on the NOM-12 and Navy MZ-2 jeeps, but don't find any referance to the MB. I could have missed it also!
I found one recently and was hoping it may be an early item.
Thanks
Jay

Look at page 153 in Lloyd's Volume 1. For both manufacturers and changes by serial number, the data is listed separately for QMC/ORD jeeps and again for Navy/USMC jeeps. So check the jeep description across the top of the page to make sure you have the correct group of MB jeeps.
Look through pages 242 to 288 to see if it is listed separately there. It might not be because it was an optional horn to the Sparks-Withington (Sparton) horn and both horns shared the same part number, A-1312, making them somewhat indistinguishable in print. But I do not see the Schwarze horn listed in either Willys Parts List TM-10-1206 Change No. 4 dated Dec. 1, 1941, or in TM-10-1206 Chang No. 6 dated Feb. 1, 1942. Based on its absence there, I would imagine its first use was -- perhaps? -- no earlier than February 1942, or possibly a bit later. I don't have a full collection of Willys Parts Lists to look at individually, so I can't tell you when it first appeared in one.

Re: Schwarze horns When?
Wiring and gauges were pretty original on my April '42 WILLYS Script and it had a SPARTON. Don't know if that helps.
