Restoring my T84, and putting apart today.....discovered that one of the poppet ball is stuck in the case. I get it it won't pop if the spring is broken, but how this ball got in and is stuck in there (tried multiple soft things to get it out, without success) is a mystery to me (probably someone used an undersized ball...). Before I really use harder way to get it out, any advice?
I have another question about the seal and main bearing but I'll come back later.

Try a straw or other small tube taped up to your shopvac. A magnet usually won't work.

You will find a hole at the bottom that you can put a bent wire into.

Re: stuck poppet Ball
I found my 2nd/3rd rail poppet ball was stuck.
I could press down on it and compress the spring.
Pushing from below through the little hole didn't help.
Finally, I pushed the ball down with a 1/4" drift and wiggled the drift around in the top of the hole.
The ball popped out! There must have been a little galling around the top of the hole.
