Thanks John for your reply.
Any idea if Model 1944 is the type of horn or is a production date ?
Do you know if the g503 Schwarze horn has more or less a similar plate inside ?
Cheers,
Charlie

I read it as Model 44 not 1944.

This may help in the dimensions you're looking for.

Charlie, if I'm looking at your pictures correctly, notice also that there is no square box on the back. I also don't recall any pictures of G503 Schwartz horns having the data tag.

Is there evidence the Scharze horns have ever been used on jeeps please ?
A few very knowledgable friends I know told me they were never used on jeeps.

However I have seen at least one unrestored slat grill with a schwarze horn, I haven't seen any factory pictures with one installed.

Kind regards, Luc

Interesting... on page 128 AAW vol 1 revised the GPW is listed as having the Schwarze horn and the Willys MB as having the Sparks Withington. Data from this page is reputedly extracted from ORD 14-2 Interchangeability List for Ordnance, General Purpose and Combat Vehicles, 5 June 1945
Luc, this is the only written data I can find on the Schwartz horn at the moment.

cheers
Bill.

Guys,

So a Schwarze horn is more correct of a 7-22-1942 GPW?

If anyone has an original one...I have a NOS FORD horn to trade

regards

Hmmmm never used on jeeps :?: I have a Schwartze horn on my slatgrill, so it is used on at least one jeep  Don`t know about factory installations, but you wrote Never used, and that is not correct
