Beware the color of those seats from Italy. It is 100% off and not correct in any way. Everything else is 100% correct except for the color of the canvas. See the following post and read thoroughly. C.

I have NOS Late Seats from Willys on my MB and also have Paolo's repro late Seats, the color is right on for WWII issue.

I like the old smelly oil cnavas so i went and found premade canvas tarps perfect thickness for a top plus the the tarps all have a doublestitch center seam .and i made my own top for my gpw.I found black grommets for the front windshield studs.found olive green binding and webbing.i have to add that i own an auto upholstery shop so i have the capabilities to produce a nice fitting top.i also made a windshield cover seat covers and headlight covers.but as far as the idea of one top fits all does not work for me .all seam to have different bow to windshield measurments .i was thinking about the premade one but was worried about the fit.i am not saying that all dont fit but most i have seen need some minor to major adjustments.good luck in your efforts to obtain the correct canvas.i agree the colors do vary alot from manufacturer to manufacturer.

cant we all just get along .all of the folks that have chimed in on this subject have good points . but in my humble opinion didnt canvas back during the war get very hard to find kind of like tires during the depression.there were so many venders the OD shade would be all over the place.when i order materials from my vendors the color shade varies some 5 shades depending on the manufacturer. most people are pretty hapy with there top and color decision and most of them think they have the correct color on there jeep so whose right.?as long as there happy.hope this gets put to bed soon.thanks

It is my understanding that the Gov't provided the rolls of canvas duck to the manufacturers during WWII.

There would have obviously been some color variations between one lot of canvas to another. “Modern” military canvas (although everything now days seems to be nylon or some other synthetic) is very green...which stands out in sharp contrast to the WWII shades of OD.

I believe that the "very green" military canvas is ordered to a current color spec. It matches the Forrest Green used on the late M series trucks.

Exactly correct Joel. My point being that “modern” shades of military canvas is used frequently to make “WWII” reproduction products. So, one needs to educate themselves. I can absolutely say that the shades of canvas that both Farrell and WeeBee uses in their products is not of the modern variety.

They do not buy just any old canvas, there is good mil spec product out there but the color choices are limited. Am sure that the majority of those who are making the MV Jeep canvas are buying the best they can. I don't sweat the minor differences as I have NOS WWII MV canvas for various vehicles and some matches the OD used thru the 80's on M-Series trucks.

The seat cover set offered by New Life is perfection, the bottoms are complete with the welded metal stiffener as on the late spring type seats, the attention to detail and fit are equal and to and may actually exceed the OEM. I have a set of these, also.

Depends on how you look at it. The canvas used by Wee Bee Webbing and myself is made by the same company who supplied Willys Overland during WW2. Made in the same mill, on the same shuttle loom, and dyed to match the same color chip supplied by the QMC. Others cannot make this claim. Other canvas materials might get pretty close for sure, but none have the pedigree.
I have a question, if wee Bee is making the same product as you are, why re-invent the wheel?
what sets your product apart from Wee Bee who has a great reputation and has been around a while?
