Still wet behind the ears!!

Hi all

Last October two of us found a Willys MB [No. 400463] in a barn in south west France. Yup we bought it and shipped it back to the UK. At that point I had never had anything to do with rebuilding cars or any knowledge other than I knew where the petrol and oil went.

Since then we have spent many long hours stripping the Jeep down and restoring it. The project took on a whole new dimension when my joint owner was diagnosed with cancer. I was/am determined to get it and my joint owner over to France this year for the Normandy events. We have the ferry booked and accommodation booked. Now we just need to get it finished.

We just could do with some advice. PLEASE

Last weekend we did a prolonged run of the engine and all looks good apparently. On a compression test we had 100 on each cylinder and temp stayed at 140-150. Oil pressure was stable at 30 when warmed up. Do these numbers sound ok and is there anything we should look out for?

We just want to get to the jeep gathering on 6/6/14!

Compression & Oil pressure seem okay. Temp is running low. Do you have a thermostat in? If so it might be stuck open.
