WW2 German 200 Litre fuel drum

Post by Rajeee » Sun Nov 19, 2017 6:11 pm

Hi

I collect Jerry Cans but now want to find a drum or two.
Not very common but I am looking to buy a WAFFEN SS 200 litre KAFTSTOFF. (Fuel drum). I will also look at other branches of Axis containers

Either here in North America or Europe.

Thanks Adam

Thanks for posting that picture! Wow I've never seen one of those. Good luck on your search. I've purchased regular German Jerry cans from sellers in the former Eastern Bloc countries and have been amazed at what they have available. Possibly contact them and ask them. They list regularly on Ebay.

RE stands for Regio Esercito (Italiano) or Royal Italian Army during WW2, so the Italian ones were marked as such.
There were probably a few hundred scattered around one of the most impressive war museums Ive ever visited.Museo Storico Piana delle Orme In Sabaudia south of Rome.
I stopped counting special versions of MBs and GPWs after 30....M5 Greyhounds after 10.....etc. Even had a perfectly preserved P40 that survived a ditching at Anzio as well as the only completely surviving original Sherman DD as well as some landing craft.
They also had about half the 200 WW2 SPA T.37s ever produced scatered around the museum in different exhibits.
