WTK/WTB: Jerry Can Spount not screw on type

Post by signsup » Sun Sep 18, 2016 1:56 pm

Had my jeep on display this afternoon and met a gentlman who wanted a jerry can spout for the WWII era jerry can, US, but wanted a spount that did not thread on but clamped on or quick disconnected on somehow. He said he had one before but lost it with the can when they fell of his jeep.
I had never seeen or heard of the spout he was describing.

Any thoughts on what this guy had and where I would find a photo or part numbers so I could try to located one for him? Or does anyone have one that would want to sell or trade?

II'm Sgt. Schultz on this topic, I know NOTHING! So any help appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Aren't all US ww2 spouts attached with a cam expanding a rubber ring?
