German Kanister

Post by majmacs » Mon Aug 22, 2016 12:30 pm

Posted Saturday a few pics at the end of this thread.
viewtopic.php?f=37&t=274293

Thought I would make my own thread now that I have it in my possession.

Good news is that it was cheap and isn't too badly dented and looks nice. Bad news is that it has some rust holes in the bottom and a weird one in the middle of the side to the right near the makers mark.(seems to be only pitted in that area of the outside)
Likely will have to put in storage and will see if I can do anything with it when I get home to Canada in a couple of years.
I have a large bead blast cabinet and a welder to dig out of storage when the time comes.....might keep looking for a better one though.
There was some dirt and tar on the side which obscured the markers mark when I first received the cell phone pics. After a little scrubbing, scraping and some brake cleaner, makers mark dwc was visible as well what looks like some maybe original dark green paint?
Pics of both sides and top.
