Justin, I didn't say that, just that the script looked like Korean hangul. The Republic of Korea (ROK), AKA South Korea has a fairly large military. This could be ROK military issue.

Justin,
All WW2 era US cans (that I have seen) have their details on the bottom or under the handles.

Could very well be a Vietnam bring-back.

It's hard to tell from the photos, are the markings painted on, or stamped into the metal?

Hi Gerrykan,
The marking are stamped into the Jerry Can.
When I am back in town I will try and take a better photo.
Regards
Justin

Re: Another Queensland Jerry Can
With the markings stamped into the can, I would say there is a high likelihood it belonged to a military force.
I do have a German style jerrycan that has the Shell Petroleum Company logo stamped into it, so it could be commercial markings.
The USA sent several can making factories overseas during WW2.
More likely that they were sold or given away, than shipped back to the USA.
The can may also be US Foreign Aid.
Purchased by the USA and given to another country.
