Can you post pics so we can see the difference in the buckles? Were these carriers attached to jeeps? Do the carriers have "41B22590" stamped on them? There are many WWII buckles for all kinds of uses and it would be helpful to see some original, confirmed gas can straps for WWII jeeps. They may have used different suppliers from CCKW or Dodges...this would help us to identify WWI straps and know what vehicle the carrier was originally attached to and keep us from buying the wrong buckles for our jeeps...
By the way, here is 1945 MB with a ONE-PIECE gas can strap....so much of this jeep is ORIGINAL it is hard to accept that this one strap has been replaced.
