I have found one like this. I also have at least one 1945 JR TOY without the extra inscription. I also purchased some unassembled pieces of 1945 JR TOY cans. There is another similar can...I think marked RADIO STEEL 1951 with an additional mark of M.C.C. '52.
The rest of this post is theory and guesswork with no proof.
JR TOY must of had a large quantity of stampings on hand when their contract was cancelled in '45.
Russakov used up the JR TOY leftovers, after stamping their name and assembly date to the bottom plates.
Did Russakov;
1. Buy the leftover stampings from JR TOY?
2. Buy the stamping dies and modify them?
3. Contract JR TOY to provide stampings?
4. Buy JR TOY?
5. Or is Russakov the 'R' of JR TOY, and the company changed it's name after 1945? [Although one wouldn't think RUSSAKOV would have been a very good name choice in 1950's Cold War America.]

I read in an article that jerrycans with "assembled Russakov" were made in spare parts in USA and sent to Russia to be assembled. That took less place for the transport. I am not sure that this version is right. I have two ones with this additional mark. They are also JR TOY 1945.
I have a Radio Steel 1951 and the additional mark is 7-52 M.C.C.

Hi guys,
Just to drag this up I was searching online for info about a gas can and discovered the following:
https://picclick.com/Antique-Metal-Glas ... 99759.html
it would appear that Russakov was in Chicago and not Russia
cheers
Matt

Matt,
I was going to provide a link to a Google search for patents applied for, or assigned to Russakov, but I think I found the actual patent for the biscuit box lid you linked to. https://www.google.com/patents/US199075 ... 8Q6AEIXjAI
Google search for patents associated with Russakov: https://www.google.com/search?site=&tbm ... BpsdcS9xsQ
