Has anyone here ever seen a CH-96 chest which was part of ME-34 maintainence kit?In 35 years collecting this stuff,I've never seen one and I've only seen 2 CH-72 chests (one of which I own)which are the early spares chests for the SCR 609 and SCR 610 .I think it is only mentioned in the Aug.42 TM.According to the ME-34 description, the CH-96 holds the same items that are in the CH-72.I would be interested in seeing what the diference between the two chests is.

Chest CH-96

Post by Craig Johnson » Tue Jan 31, 2006 9:21 am

My father has that chest. He picked it up last year at a local junk store. Not local to me he's 7 hours away.

I dont have any pictures to show right now. My father doesnt have a digital camera. He says he will take some and mail them. No telling when that will happen.

In his words from the email he sent about the condition.

I have one of these. It is pretty good shape. One of the latches is missing a part. It is missing a divider, and has a little damage to one of the boards inside. The outside really looks good.

I would like to trade it for something.

Im looking for this chest CH-33 for the BC-222 , BC-223, BC-195, BC-195

I remembered that I had taken some photos of my dads barn so I looked and by chance I had a decent shot of the chest. I will bug my dad for some more.

The CH-96 chest is no longer for sale. It will leave the old red barn and see the light of day in someone elses collection.

I will post the pictures when they arrive in the mail next week so everyone can see what it looks like.

I know this is a really old post, but since no one ever posted pictures of a CH-96 I thought I'd show mine. It has the BX-40 crystal box, but what else goes in it?
