If it is in a wood crate it is a post war depot reconditioned.NOS units came in a factory card board double box with the manufacturers name contract and order number printed on the box not stenciled.I have 2 SCR508 sets in my storage exactly the same also in crates. These were reconditioned in the 50's for the MAP Military Assistance Program to be given to friendly foreign governments but most never left the US and were surplussed by the government. That is a bargain price for a depot rebuilt set as you can be pretty sure each component is in working condition.
