AN/VRC-92A cabling
I’m looking through all the TM’s I find but I don’t see any good cabling diagrams for this radio setup. I’m a noob so some of this might be obvious but I’m still learning...slowly. I see one pic on the TM 11-5820-890-10-8 page 2-24 but the cables aren’t labeled. It only covers a few cables though.
I should clarify, it’s the double radio unit with second amp. I believe it’s referred to the LR/LR.

For starters
Then the bottom radio antenna cable runs to the MT-6263/AM-7238A Amp then to the SINCGARS antenna itself.1995 M1025A2 Orig 5SFG GMV ODA525 "Hammerhead"

Are the w2 cables pretty standard length of 12”? I was just looking on eBay to source some. Or are there shorter ones? Seems like a long cable for something that’s only 2” away.

Thank you sir. So the external speakers just run inline with the handset? Radio AUD to speaker to handset?Falldownjaeger wrote:For startersThen the bottom radio antenna cable runs to the MT-6263/AM-7238A Amp then to the SINCGARS antenna itself.

If you look in TM 11-5820-890-10-3 it has good cabeling diagrams on pages 1-8 thru 1-12 and pages 2-24 thru 2-27.ohiohmmwv wrote: ↑Sat Jan 27, 2018 4:00 pmI’m looking through all the TM’s I find but I don’t see any good cabling diagrams for this radio setup. On your speakers, they don't mount inline with the handsets. If you have LS-671 speakers they mount to the J-3 port for radio A and J-4 port for radio B on the power block of the mounting base. You can also mount a LS-454 to the J-6 connector on the bottom right front of the double radio tray. If you are using a VIC-3 intercom tied into the radios the cableing for the speakers needs to be a little different depending if you have a lite MCS or the larger one.
The shortest cable I found to connect the tray to the radios is this one. It's 10 inches in overall length. the numbering on the cable is first line 80063-A3013735-8 Second line MFR 65242

AN/VRC-92A cabling
Good info thanks. I am planning on using the Vic-3 lite intercom system and the ls671 speakers in my setup. I notice the vic3 also use up the j3 and j4 connectors too. Is there some sort of splitter to attach both?FKAM wrote:If you look in TM 11-5820-890-10-3 it has good cabeling diagrams on pages 1-8 thru 1-12 and pages 2-24 thru 2-27.ohiohmmwv wrote: ↑Sat Jan 27, 2018 4:00 pmI’m looking through all the TM’s I find but I don’t see any good cabling diagrams for this radio setup. Re: AN/VRC-92A cabling
Yeah, LS-671's and a VIC-3 gets a bit confusing and convoluted. There are several variations.
First to clarify one of my previous comments. You can put a LS-671 and a H-250 inline. But you have to do it by using the J3 and J4 connection points on the power block. I was talking about trying to do it from the front of the dual radio tray. Sometimes I visualize things differently from the way individuals explain things.
I have been experimenting with the different speakers and the VIC-3 with limited success.
If you are using a VIC-3 Lite and plan to integrate both radios there is no way I know of to use a LS-671. The only way to use a speaker in this setup is to use the J6 port on the front of the dual tray with a LS-454 or LS 688. I haven't been able to find a manual on the VIC-3 Lite so there may be a way to, that I don't know of. The only way I know of to use a LS-671 is to plug it directly into the J3 or J4 ports on the power block. But that will remove one or more of the radios from the intercom.
On the regular VIC-3 MCS you can plug a LS-688 to the speaker connection on the MCS and then put the speaker switch to radio and then all radios connected to the system will be heard over the speaker.
I've also been looking for some type of splinter like you mentioned but haven't so far. Don't know if one actually exists.
I haven't been able to find a cable or reference to a cable that will directly hook a LS-671 to the U-238 connectors like both the LS-454 and LS-688 do.
These are the references that I have found that talks to all this.

TM-11-5830-263-10 VIC 3 Operator Manual
I think I have more but they are buried somewhere and I need to find them and see if there is more info. Running speakers with the dual radio tray is a work in progress for me so hopefully someone else knows more and will reply here and I'll learn something too.
