Stolen BC-620

Post by mulezilla » Mon Jan 22, 2018 9:23 am

Hi guy's, If anyone happens to come across a BC620 chassis being sold either in Colorado or else where know it might be stolen, it is a easy spot for it had two bayonet style indicator lights added (Red/Green) and also a tuning eye. I bought the radio for the shell then traded the chassis for a CS-79 battery box and it was miss delivered presumably in Denver as that was the last known location. Again it is just the guts but the indicator lights and tuning eye are still wired in. Here is a picture of it still in the case as I do not have one of just the chassis.

Thanks.............Ron

You need to get with the shipper and find where it was delivered to.Otherwise file an insurance claim with the shipping company.

USPS....500.00 dollar insurance and tracking number, Colorado to Illinois mailed on 10/30/17. It went between CO and Il 12 times before arriving back in Denver on 12/9 it was then "Delivered" to a agent which is postal term for anyone on mother earth and that was the last it was tracked, a month and a half jumping through every hoop put in front of me for the insurance claim only to be denied as they cant accept that the agent in question was a postage handler within Denver's hub and not either me or the buyer to which neither of us lives in Denver.

That is typical of USPS, I have shipped parts to customers with USPS and the packages arrive damaged/open with parts missing. When a claim was filed with USPS the response was "the package was delivered". I know this doesn't help you, but I know what you're thru. UPS and FED EX are better choices.

Good Luck

Sorry for the loss of your BC-620, but I'd like to add an "atta-boy" to the USPS. I recently shipped a FT-250 radio mount to the Netherlands. Due to a failure (by the NLPS) to notify the recipient in the Netherlands, it was returned to me. The recipient told me that there is an international agreement between the USPS and the NLPS that the USPS should and would ship it back the the Netherlands free of charge. After chasing that rabbit around for a week or so, the USPS finally just refunded my total shipping cost, so I simply repackaged it and sent it back the the Netherlands and the recipient NOTIFIED the NLPS that it was coming - and it sailed through. I was surprised and very happy with the cooperation of the local USPS in this matter.

You should appeal the USPS decision. If it wasn't delivered to the recipient or returned to you they should be liable for the loss. The insurance covers loss, missing contents, and damage. They have forms for that. Also tell them you want to speak to a Postal Inspector. Been there done that when they "lost" a complete transmission.

I just sent a dispute letter to the claims division in WDC as its the only place to go with it now, the PO system is full of pass it on types as that seem's to be what they are taught.
