Hi
I am looking at buying a BC1000 but am far from an expert. all looks right and I am assured its WW2 (I have no reason to doubt seller as he's a genuine and fair guy) but I don't want to part with a fair amount of cash without being absolutely certain if its WW2 or post war French. it has a French label on the lid but English markings otherwise? does this combination make sense? Any help gratefully received and or tips on what to look for to confirm it is right for WW2.

Re: Help with identifying BC1000
Here's what I've learnt and what I think so far based on reading back through G503.
- No indent in cover where data plate is suggests post war as does the X on the battery box rather than a T
- Spring catches look right for US manufacture
- The knobs for squelch and volume on this appear appear more often in pics of French ones
- next to the text that says "press for dial light and calib" this one doesn't have a screw - but again can't convince myself either way on this.
Hoping someone can help - Mr Google hasn't helped me hugely.

Re: Help with identifying BC1000
It is a French made BC-1000 made from 1956-1962 under license from Motorola.Unusual as it is very late production made for US Department of the Army for French and German NATO forces. These had been out of US production sense 1945.

Thanks for the replies, Radtech, I was wondering if you felt this made a g=huge difference to value. I'm in Australia and these are hard to come by, and really hard to import so this might be best I'll get.
interested in views as I've seen people say these ones can be worth just as much as they could be made to work

Re: Help with identifying BC1000
There is a huge difference in value between a genuine WWII BC-1000 and a French made or even a US set rebuilt by the French or Italians.
