Looking for/WTB CH-60 radio cabinet
I'm looking for the radio cabinet to install an SCR-193 in my halftrack. While the SCR-193 can be mounted in many different combinations depending on the vehicle, for an M3A1 halftrack the manual calls for a CH-60.
As described in the manual: The cabinet CH-60 is 53 5/8 inches long, 29 13/16 inches high, and 11 5/8 inches deep and is divided by one vertical partition and one horizontal shelf, the latter in the right portion of the cabinet, so as to form three compartments. The cabinet CH-60 has two doors similarly constructed, one covering the left compartment and the other the right compartments. The doors are hinged above their center lines so that the top portion swings outward and downward to lay against the lower portion. In this position, the doors are removable from the cabinet frame by a vertical movement of the door assembly. This vertical movement disengages offset brackets welded to the bottom of the door assemblies, which engage a portion of the cabinet CH-60 frame when the doors are in place.
Any leads would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys...

I was told the links to the pictures aren't working. I can see them, but they again they're my pictures from my account…let me know if they still aren't working and I'll figure out a different method of posting.

Tom,
I don't have any leads on an original. But if you want it, I can send you a drawing for making it that another collector drew about 5 years ago. Unfortunately, it does not include the doors described in your earlier post. Nor anything to do with attaching the doors. If you want it (as a PDF or TIF), PM me your email address.

Tapper02:
Over a year ago, G503 member Zepher11 built a replica CH60 for his Dodge WC-16 radio command car. Look at the last 12 pages or so (dated January to June 2017) of this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=56&t=251701&start=30
to see how he built his replica CH60 and the one change in the height of the right-hand shelf he would make if he built it again.
I imagine it would be quicker for you to build your own CH60 than to continue to wait to find one, because finding one complete, near complete, or in decent condition likely will be quite difficult and take a long time. Good luck with your ongoing 2-1/2 year search or, failing that, your CH60 build.

Re: Looking for/WTB CH-60 radio cabinet
Thanks Fred. Yes, Zeph and I corresponded prior to and during his build, and he definitely learned some lessons along the way that I can benefit from if I have to resort to building one myself. There are a few dimensions missing from the plans he used (that I also have a copy of), but I think they can be overcome.
I'm currently overseas, hence the continuing online search. I've been unsuccessful in locating one in Europe as well, but rare items do pop up from time to time so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Thanks for your input.
