Need WW II Style Camo Net

Postby Ted Schwartz » Mon May 12, 2003 12:56 pm

I'm looking for some decent WW II style camo net. Should have the canvas scrim in it. Need it for WW II Weekend entrance in a couple weeks. If you don't want to sell it can I borrow it? Please?

WWII Cammo netting

Postby MAJ Tim » Tue Jul 15, 2003 11:11 am

So how did the netting turn out?

I know WWII nets were called shrimp nets.....and I guess they added burlap straps to them....

There were 2 types of net in WW2: the "regular" net, made up of large squares, which had burlap strips woven into it, and the shrimp net. This net has very small openings (to catch shrimp-get it?). The same material was used in the late-war helmet net.

WWII Cammo netting

I know the nets issues to vehicles were Shrimp nets from the TOE....at least that is what they were supposed to be issued...
