FS: Scarce PT Boat Stuff (Badge Document)

Here are two scarce WW2 PT Boat-related items for your consideration...

Image

* MBTRON 35 Wood Unit Insignia. This 11.5" diameter, 1/4" thick plywood plaque was used (as witnessed by the perimeter screw holes and traces of Navy grey paint on the back). Gorgeous screened(?) graphics in 98% condition. MBTRON 35 used 80' Elco boats in the English Channel 1944-45 before the equipment was transferred to the Soviets. My guess is that this was on a boat and removed before the transfer. I spoke with a collector at the Pamona show last May who had an identical one as well. Awesome display piece. $250. *** SOLD

* 1944 PT Boat Qualification Certificate from the Melville, RI School. Awarded to Ensign Ray A. Graham, Jr. on 01/08/44. These are even harder to find than the officer qualification badges they pertain to. Measures 9" x 10" in original black wood frame. The old cardboard should be replaced at some point. $150.

Prices do not include postage. Please PM direct if you are interested. Thanks for looking!
