I PREFER THE M43 UNIFORM....WHICH SEEMS TO FIT MY 45MB IMPRESSION....

SO IF ANYONE NEEDS SOME M41 FIELD JACKETS.....LET ME KNOW...

THEY ARE NOT CHEAP BY ANY MEANS.......AS THEY ARE GETTING HARDER TO FIND IN EXCELLENT ORIGINAL CONDITION...

THE MAIN THING TO REMEMBER....UR OPTION IS TO FIND A PERIOD FOTO....AND TRY UR BEST TO RECREATE THAT PARTICULAR LOOK...

HOPEFULLY IT MAY BE OF A RELATIVE...OR A FRIEND OR ACQUAINTANCE....

WHICH IS WHAT I HAVE DONE....

THIS WAY.....WHEN SOMEONE IS QUICK TO ARGUE...ABOUT THE ORIGINALITY OF WHAT IM WEARIN....I JUST SHOW THEM THE PERIOD FOTO....

GOOD LUCK....AND REMEMBER TO HAVE FUN DOIN IT....

We do Heer, actually an Austrian unit "drafted in the Heer. Not SS, not Panzer, not FJ. We also have a secondary impression as Pioneers.

Not your norm for German. Friends don't friends reenact SS! :o

I just wanted to add a couple of things.

My Dad landed at Omaha in Sept 1944 with wools, the M-41 jacket and a helmet with the net. I have the pictures and uniform. He was in a combat engineer group(and it WAS a group) that later linked up with the 84th Railspliters. Now, if you go to their reenactment site, they don't allow M-41 jackets or helmet nets. Sure, the 84th may not have had them at first but I can assure you that some of the replacements or reassigned men did!

It's hard to believe that these ideas can happen when so many vets are still around to correct it. Of course, I have said before that the average soldier only saw his world around his foxhole :(

Just an observation that the soldiers of a unit may have been all alike until they stepped on the boat to go overseas. Then it all changes.
