PE77-D Crate latch

Post by Tankdriver » Sat Sep 10, 2016 7:30 pm

I just picked up a nice PE77-D generator that has the original shipping crate, but one latch is missing. They look real similar to a footlocker latch. Anybody know where I can pick up one?

Also, anybody have a tool kit of bag they want to sell.....

Thanks

Post a photo if you can. I'm almost positive I know which latch you're talking about.

Well I updated the title as it is not a E, but a D according to the plate on the crate, and on the unit.

There is not much difference that I can tell in the manual.

Anyway here are the latches, I found I need 2. One is totally missing, the other is missing the bale.

Help this helps, and hope somebody has a couple.......

The latches were made by Excelsior Hardware Company. Long story short, they are most known for making latches for music instruments throughout most of the 20th Century. You can find the same latches, but in brass only. They made them during the war with steel.
