Any ideas if this is a US insignia or what era its from?

I am no expert but it looks like an officers insignia for signal corps. No idea what era.

Army Non-Commissioned Officer Signal Corps Visor Hat Badge 1905-1917. An all-bronze version was worn until 1918.
