slider on poncho neck string

What was the slider on a WWII poncho neck string made of? Any pictures?

The one I had was a green plastic ball with a hole through it.

...I have one with just a plain leather tab with 2 holes....original poncho...can't swear the leather is though...

There is a picture of one in the GI collectors guide by Enjames and it has the leather tab dyed od

Remember different manufacturers did different things, I have seen both on different ponchos
