M35 bedding roll w/ M40 sleeping bag
I started a new thread for this subject. This is what I have on my m4 track x 6. M35 bedding roll and the M40 sleeping bag. This is the best vintage set up I can think of for really sucky nights. You will sweat in this set up. For those who don't know, the M40 bag has two layers of quilting plus the cover plus a moisture cover. Really comfy.

More pics of the bags, as you can see many different bag colors and strap types.

I had one of those as a kid and wore it out camping. It saw hunderds of nights in the Rockies. I never got cold.

Hi, new here from Australia and going out for camping and your post is really helpful those who are looking for the bedding and the sleeping bag. Could you please confirm the price of it, as I am getting this in around $990. The sleeping bag price is $440 remaining balance is of the bedding. I am looking for the in reasonable price!

There is a guy who reproduces vintage camping stuff, and some of the bed roll stuff ... mostly WW I era, but most would also work for WW II era too ... it didn't change a hole heck of a lot. He is on Facebook mostly, so I can't really post a link for you that are not on Facebook. He's called Y-Guy Supply. I believe he reproduces the rectangle shaped sleeping bag you're looking for?
There was also a (WW II wartime) way to adapt a shelter half, the m1943 mummy type sleeping bag and wool blankets into a bedroll. The 100th Div. Reenactors on Facebook have it pretty detailed. Sorry you'll have to search for them on Facebook too.
I am a larger person and most the original & reproduction stuff is to small or inadequate for me, so I have had to adapt things (some modern) to me.
I use a M1935 Bedroll, a modern Czech Army surplus air-mattress - covered by a WW I era bad sack. Then for sleeping bags I use a M1945 Pattern (full zipper) wool mummy bag with cover. Inside the bag, I supplement it with a cotton sheet, and a modern polar fleece sleeping bag. I throw a few wool blankets over the bag as needed. If it's forecasted to be real cold, I replace the M1945 sleeping bag with a Modern OD colored, cold weather Holifill filled, rectangle mummy bag.
