Repro German Stahlhelms

Postby CLeBlanc » Tue Apr 13, 2010 10:45 pm

Who has the best repop German helmets? Need a 68 shell, but can't afford an original. Ive seen plenty of bad ones, but I know good repros are out there. I just don't know who makes them. TIA

I got one in trade that supposedly came from Inter-Ordnance (now Royal Tiger Imports or somthing like that...). She ain't bad.......the shell and liner are very usable. The chinstrap is wrong......but easilly swapped.

I'll have to check into that. I'm not concerned with paint or finish. Not even necessarily the liner. The last one I had, the shell wasn't even made to the correct dimensions! The space between the vents and rim flare wasn't big enough to correctly place a decal! Ridiculous! I want more opinions guys!

Royal Tiger is a dead end. They don't have German Helmets anymore

Hello Chase,

Might give Ebay a try, as you can find many dealers & part-time sellers posting new or used reproduction WWI & WWII German replica helmets. Most found on ebay are posted at a "Buy-It-Now" price, so shop around and compare prices and shipping costs. As many dealers will post a repop helmet for a cheap buy it now price, but slam you on shipping cost. two other websites you might check out are http://www.ima-usa.com and http://www.atlantacutlery.com they both have what your looking for. Just remember the German stahlhelm shell size will differ from the inner liner band size. They might be posted for sale in the european sizes. Say like a large shell marked in a Euro helmet shell size 60 (U.S. Size 7.5) may take a Euro liner size 58 (U.S. size 7 3/4). Large original WWII german shells are a very hard item to find not to mention on the pricey side. So best if you find one of them, to throw it in your 401K plan! Good luck in your search and hope you find what your looking for...

Not sure how to spell it, but Atlevice makes the best helmets. Correct gauge steel, correct paint and everything. They look so good, they stamped an atlevice inside to keep the cons from selling them as originals. I love mine!
