Guys, picked this up this weekend. I was intrigued by it, so I picked it up. It's marked "NESCO 1942" and is obviously galvanized. What is it?
It's not in the best shape, it's dented and has something that approximates a cement liner on the inside.
I think I'd like to clean it out, but have no idea how to remove cement.

I believe that is an early mess hall cream/syrup pitcher. Originally it was a shiny galvanized plate. I've got a few of them in different sizes. They were used for coffee, water, cream, etc. servers. (even motor oil) They were later replaced with the Vollrath stainless ones, because they began to figure out galvanized utensels taste funny & flake. Got one that might hold 4 oz., and another one that is about 2 quarts

Ok, so whoever said that was right on the money. I guess they aren't exactly rare? Mine will hold in the neighborhood of 12oz.

I've always seen those labeled as cream/milk pitchers. Just my 2 cents...
