Selling my 1942 Longbranch. Bolt matches reciever. Magazine is not numberes however I believe its an arsenal replacement due to a painted finish imtead of blued. Overall its a very nice rifle with a beautiful walnut stock thats I believe is the original due too it having the longbranch arrow stamp. Its an early 2 grove barrel with a bright bore however the last third of the bore is a bit frosty but it has good rifling and a good muzzle as shown in the pictures using a 54r round that uses the same diameter projectile. Looking to trade for another milsurp or sell it for 490 or best offer. I'm very reasonable with offer and the worst I can say is no. ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

That looks like a 1952 production as they built them until 1956.If it was still unfired in the 1952 factory wrap it might be worth close to that but not as it is now. They had a large quantity of 2 groove barrels left over from WWII production and can be found on the early 1950's Long Branch production rifles.

nice rifle. Back in about '59 or so, I was mowing yards for 50 cents each, and when I had saved up ten bucks, would ride my bike up to a five and dime store, and look thru the barrels of surplus WWII rifles, and buy one and take it home. I still have a 1919 303 Mark I SMLE, and the perfect Argentine Mauser from so long ago, and reload and shoot them, and my other vintage rifles. I did not buy a Jungle Carbine, 303, but wanted one of them for so long, that when I found one a couple of years ago, a '46 perfect, mint real one, bought it. I reload it and shoot it often. With the rear peep sight, it is extremely accurate with my reloads.

Enfields do tend to kick a bit.

good luck with yours...

I have a 1944 Long Branch and it is lot of fun to shoot. Fast bolt with rear locking lugs. You can work bolt with index finger and pull trigger with pinky finger and get the lead out!
