Anyone know what this mystery box goes to? Ammo can? Parts Box? Given the flanges on the sides it looks like it would slide into some kind of mount or bracket.

Would a Thompson mag fit inside? I’ve seen similar stowage boxes in armoured vehicles for the Thompson mags.

It might fit 20 round magazines but I think it would be too short for 30 rounders. I'll try to post some measurements here in a bit.

I had a chance to throw a tape on the box and here's the dimensions.

6in Deep
7in Wide
8in Wide to the outside of the little flanges.
