Rob,
There is no "Cautionary Tale" here. I have direct knowledge of this event. The Airmen stealing the property did it with full knowledge of what they were doing, at times stealing directly from other troops personal mission lockers. And the reason the civilian is pleading guilty is he knew it was stolen property, and like most dumb criminals tried to sell these controlled items. Also the quantities involved here were not small.

Stolen does not make it surplus

The civilians who buy from the thieves to resell online is the caution for potential online buyers. Caveat Emptor - Buyer Beware!
