WW2 30Cal Ammo Cans

Post by Pat Gray » Sun Oct 01, 2017 4:10 pm

Found a small stash of WW2 30Cal Ammo Cans, but the bad news is that they don't have lids.
They seem to have original paint. Some have a little surface rust but do clean up great.
What would they be worth with out lids?
Will try to post pictures but may need help.
Thanks, Pat

Sadly not much I'm afraid. Unless a collector is trying to upgrade a rare manufacturer in their collection that may be pitted or dented where they can swap the lids.
I regularly run across M1 .30 cal cans for $10-$15 each. Really nice and clean ones maybe $20.
I am no expert and do not claim to be, heck, I am fairly new to this game, but I would suspect cans with no lids would be half of that price or less.
Others may differ in opinion.

Cans without lids are only good for junk storage and not much else.
