M6 Knife real or fake

Post by Data Plate » Thu Jan 12, 2017 5:49 am

I found a guy selling this is this a m3 or M6 knife or real it has a aluminum handle on e bay now # 361874278921 is it worth it

Milpar Aluminum Handle M3 Trench Knife from the Vietnam Era. These knives were made by Milpar in Columbus, Ohio. For reference see "Best of Cole" page 90 and Silvey's "Knives of Vietnam" page 118. This rare Milpar knife and the scabbard are both in excellent condition showing only light in/out scabbard wear. The scabbard is a US issue M8A1 which is the correct scabbard for this knife. The blade is from a US M6 bayonet and is 6 1/2" long. Total length of the knife is 11"

Back in the 50's they used to sell those handles in hunting and fishing magazines to convert carbine bayonets to hunting knives. If that is factory, it is extremely poor quality that I believe would never pass factory quality control.

Sometimes the standings on various things are hidden. Like take off the scales and look?
