Im looking to replicate a bazooka to use for displays with my jeep. Does anyone know where I can find the specs of a original unit?

Do a web search for SARCO BAZOOKA, they offer it in pieces, $170, or as an assembled and harmless facsimilie for $325.00.

Got the kit.

Actually it's going together quite easily. Luckily I have a friend who can weld. The lack of instructions supplied with the kit prompted me to do some research to get dimensions etc to locate the positions of the stock, foregrip, sights etc. These have to be welded on the tube.

Also, the rear "spoked wheel" is too small in diameter to fit around the outside of the tube, but it slid in the tube easily so that's where I am putting it. Inaccurate but insures it is a replica (I suppose).

One with some welding capability could put his thing together in a couple of hours or less. The wooden pieces only need sanding and staining to install.

Overall, I think it will prove to be a decent replica in the end.

I'll try to post a pic when we are done.

I googled M1A1 bazooka and a webpage popped up selling complete plans for 9.99 so I bought them - got them in email within an hour or so.

They are scaled cad files and a few pdf files.

From the front of the barrel:

Front sight is 2.8 inches
Rear sight is 16 inches
Front of the trigger (the actual plate to be welded not the guard) is 18.7 inches
Front of the shoulder stock (metal triangular plate part not wood) is 24.7 inches
Front of the face shield is 21.9 inches (I just put the rear end of this shield even with the rear of the shoulder stock - looks ok)

From the rear of the barrel (not the wire loop the actual tube):

Wire tube clamp is 3.16 inches
Second wire tube clamp is 13.2 inches

I eyeballed the wire tube itself and form fitted it to the side and thru the wooden parts to get the trigger.

Hope his helps...

Forgot to mention the latch on the rear of the tube.

The pivot point is shown to be 2.9 inches from the first wire tube clamp but I just put mine in place where it would work and tacked it in....

We also put a machine bolt in the latch and placed a spring under it do it would stay in the down position.

Aside from drilling the pistol grip and stock and using the long threaded rivets, that's about all the "customizing" we needed to do.

The kit actually went together well and the wooden parts only need a light sanding and stain.
