Re: WTB 106 RR ammo storage tubes
Try calling Chris at 319-558-8308, I got a number of the HEP-T round containers from him. There are three different lengths of 106 tubes, the ones Chris had or has will fit the Inert training round or the HEP-T round. The HEAT AND APERS-T are both longer and harder to find. Picture is a few I got from Chris restored!
Good luck

I'm looking for a storage tube for a 106mm hep-t M346A1 shell 37" by 4" diameter. Let me know if these well work and the price. Thank you George

Re: WTB 106 RR ammo storage tubes
HI Guys,
Thought I would jump in here with an update. I looked for 5 years for tubes. I have finally found the seven I need for the A1C project. I am afraid, however, that there just may be no more out there for sale. I even purchased 4 105 tubes for $75 each. I was told before I got them that they were the same size. They are not even close. I was able to get the correct tubes for only $30 each. There were a couple guys out there who truly helped me out. Without them I would still be looking. So, somewhere between free and $75 per tube. Good luck and good hunting.
Buy the way, the 105 tubes are for sale!

What are the size difference in the 106 to 105?
The cases are same in every dimension and the only difference is the primer pocket. The 106 is recessed to prevent it from being fired in a 105. So a 105 hep-t case should be exactly the same! I will check my loading data Tm and post what I find here

Re: WTB 106 RR ammo storage tubes
Hi guys,
I dug out a couple tubes for comparison. I took some pics but can not figure how to get them from phone to site. I will work on that. Anyway here are some dimensions.
The 105 tube, #C511 is 6 1/2 inches in diameter and 41 inches long.
The 106 HEP-T tube, #C651 is 5 1/2 inches in diameter and 39 inches long.
The 106 HEAT tube #C650 is the same diamter but about 3/4 inches longer.
The real problem for me was the ammo rack in the back of the 151. The extra inch in diameter keeps the tube from sitting down in the rack, plus 6 across makes them 6 inches wider than the 106 tubes.
I will post pics soon.

Craig,
So you found both M314 HEP-T & M316 HEAT tubes? Super, just curious; what are the dates of the tubes?

Ilets try that again
Hey Walt, good to hear from you. Yes, I got very lucky. I will dig the tubes out again this weekend, and check dates.

Craig, Looks like the M314 is 9-72 that is the same as mine. The M316 looks like an early lot number for HEAT, interested in the date on those!!
