If you find a source, let me know. I too need one for a US 81mm bipod.

Here's an example of a 1943 Pullman Standard Car 81MM bipod dataplate.

Image

It measures 28.5 mm x 63 mm. This one is steel. You may want to contact Robert in Poland ("Lt. Horne") and see if he'll produce a replica. He's made custom replica plates before.

I actually need a 1943 Pullman plate, to match my 1943 Pullman cup...

So that more than 2 are being ordered, perhaps we should poke around? 1919a4.com?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I didn't think that WW2 USGI 81mm mortar base plates had data plates?? Only the bipods had data plates.

Thanks,

I've never seen an original US baseplate with a dataplate, or the holes for one. However, the Brandt 81mm's did have a plate there. It crossed my mind that the OP was wanting a plate for a Brandt, but he wasn't clear.

That's been my experience as well. A good friend has one of the Brandt baseplates that had the six small data plate holes. He welded over the holes and it looks just like a USGI baseplate, minus the GI numbers on the bottom though.

Bryan,
My M1 81mm base plate is U.S. and does NOT have holes or a data plate on it.. I was lucky when I got the set up.. has a 42 dated tube and bipod..

If you are restoring this as a US 81mm, you do not need a plate for the base. Weld the holes shut or just ignore them.

Plan on making another one of those plates? Whats the material? Type, gauge, etc.
