Mike, I didn't know those were different until you pointed it out. Thanks. Mine are like the one on the left I think? The guy I bought them from said the fuse was original WWII manufacture, but the spoon was produced by him.
Thanks
Scott

Hi Scott,
There is nothing in writing saying if they are or are not. It's just my opinion on the batch that came from England and you know what they say about opinions.

Either way..your price is outstanding. I bought a few from the guy in England and then started to compare them. The primer well is too big for the WWII primer..originals need to be hammered in the repos drop in and fall out when turned upside down, and a few more details. Check out this pic of an orig and a repo.

Maybe they botched a batch. and got the specs wrong. so they threw them away. But I dont think so :?:Not all originals have mold numbers in the back but the ones that dont match the other specs.

Got four of these from Scott today...

Image

Left (Scott's) with my WW2 Spoon, Pivot Pin and Striker installed. Fit is EXC. Original Striker would work if I had three hands to work that $#%@ Spring into position (always a "joy").

Right (Damaged WW2 AZ Range example) with original components.

The originals often have the die casting marks discussed above as well as round mold marks on the sides. The replica has none of those markings. The replica spoons are struck very nicely (perhaps even a heavier gage metal) but the tail end appears to be 1/8" shorter and the front curl is noticeably longer (creating the "overbite" discussed above). The width of the front lip on the repros matched the originals I had and the (original) spoon fit was very close. Great copies regardless.

Thanks Scott!

Here you go Mike...

Spoon Fit... (original left vs. replica right -- both have original spoons)

Image

Body Profile... (original left vs. replica right -- sorry for the crappy pic)

Image

The original (spent) fuze photographed had a slightly drooping lip from the detonation. I'm still amazed that fuze assemblies can remain intact from exploded grenades.

As discussed previously there are subtle differences, mostly on the inside and the detonator tube, but the original striker parts fit fine in these replica heads.

Thanks for the pics Jeff,
Scott's fuzes look great..I may have second thoughts on them being repo...they certainly look better than the repos I posted. I would still like to see a pic of both fuzes with the spoon OFF. Like this

Another big tell between the repro and original fuses is the weight, the repros I have feel like they are made of aluminum or another lighter metal. Also look at the back of the spoon molding (the y-ridge), they differ from original spoons.
