No progress on the replica build this weekend. But, I did try to improve my work area by building an additional large workbench. Soon I will build another bench that will wrap around the wall on the opposite side. I kind of want to keep the old workbench because it has character. This just proves that I have the attention span of a hummingbird. Still in the middle of a bathroom remodel, 1936 GE refrigerator restoration, 84CJ7 build, etc, etc........ still waiting on a goodie package from sarco. Should be here in a few days.

Nice work bench. Mine is twelve feet long and is still too short! No more room between the walls for a longer one. There wasn't any more room between the trees for a wider shed either. I wish I had a basement. I did add a TV to the shed/man cave though. Keep all those irons hot!

Rullow, you're fortunate to have such tools available to you! I'm stuck with a torch and a grinder. I do have a hydraulic hole punch that makes easy work of the pintle hole.

Got a goodie box from sarco today. Included a barrel, top cover, trigger, charging handle, and a grade 3 jacket. The jacket was more of a grade 3 1/2- 4. It had been pulled off with a pair of channel locks I assume. I hammered it out enough to get a exhaust pipe expander in there. It made it a bit rounder but, still looks like it had a rough day. My homemade 2" jacket looks silly next to the 17/8" original.

Been working on the bottom plate. Working with angle for this task was kind of a pain but, it didn't turn out too bad. Welded the travel arm tabs and had to do some grinding so the bar would fit.

Bottom cover is basically done. Just have to drill a hole for the breech lock cam and figure out what to do with the rivets. Ill probably cut them short and set them flush so the cover will be removable for now. Will also use some titanium putty to fill in pinholes and gaps from my crude welds. And so you guys know, I'm not a welder or a machinist. I have a grinder, hand files, a welder and drill press. This is a very do-able project

Bottom plate is done with rivet heads smacked in. I'm using button head Allen screws on the corners so it can be removed. Will devise a way to use them on the top cover as well. Next I will clean up the pawl bracket and drill it for flush head Allen screws from the inside of the lsp.

Been awhile but, I finally got a trunnion thanks to a member on 1919a4.com. Also built another to work on since I already filled the other one with crap. I managed to get the chewed up barrel jacket on to the trunnion threads. I had to heat the jacket with a propane torch to get the solder out. Once it threaded it got tough so I heated it up again and metled beeswax into the threads and it worked. Always wanted to try that on something! So, my next move will be to make a front sight and figure out how this thing will go together and still be serviceable as a gas gun.
I'm glad its nice enough to have the windows open but, all my shiny metal artwork has flash rusted. Need to start thinking about paint options

No real progress other than a quick spray bomb for display at the June reenactment. But, did pick up a m122 tripod for a good price from a buddy. Now I just have to find an M3 tripod for my M2hb!
