Korean War era Sherman tank trailer
Hi guys, I was in one of the local scrap yards and spotted a 1950 U.S. Army trailer used to transport Sherman tanks, waiting to be chopped up. The local Military Museum does not have the money or interest to take on buying and restoring it. other than the deck being shot, not to bad a shape. This is located in Idaho. I thought this was interesting in that the ramp is in the front and not the back like all the others I looked up on the net.

Just curious, what part of Idaho is it in? And did you find out what they are asking for it? Any pictures or model #?

$0.25/lb to buy scrap in central PA. It is $0.02/lb to sell steel here. These have been the prices for the last couple months.

YOU aren't selling it, THEY are. They can ask what they want to bring something out. It's all about making money. The scrapper doesn't really care what historical value or how much it's gonna cost you to rebuild it, except that you're interested and that makes it worth more.ng19delta wrote:Expensive for scrap these days...
