WTK: Can MBT Hub be adapted or mounted on M3 37mm?
The original rims I have are pretty rough and having a hard time finding the correct rim and wanted to know if a MBT hub or other similar hub be adapted or used on the M3/M3A1 ATG so I can use standard WW2 jeep combat rims.
Thanks
Jason

I put jeep combat wheels on my M4 carriage without have to change anything. They bolted right on.

Can you send me a picture of your hub, the two 37s I have are early 1940 and 1941 and the hub is 5x5 if I remember correctly. A M38 rims bolt pattern is too big, I think it's 5x5.5.

From memory, I think Studebaker car/truck rims are the original pattern. Some hubs are set up for those, some for MB/GPW rims size. Might look into some Studebaker collector sites?

I found that post last night doing a search and now trying to figure out which one of the cars made or years were the same or very similar.

looking on the web, Ford rims have raised sections on the inner hubcap ring, whereas Stud's have just the rings. I think a truck is the best option for 16" rims. That, or Miller Tire might have a set from a tractor (they make rims as well), http://www.millertire.com/
I haven't looked through their catalogue to see, but bet they would have a nice clean looking pair.

Yes, 1940s-1950s Studebaker rims are exactly the same except they have a few small holes drilled to retain hub cap clips. These can be filled in with weld and ground off to make them indistinguishable from early cannon rims. Same little 1" long slots next to the outer rim and correct smaller bolt pattern.
