What do I have?

Have these training shells, but the one on the right is the one I'm asking about. I know what the one on the left fits (after looking at the bottom) and I'll give the dimensions and you can guess if you'd like. It's the one on the right that I have no clue about.

Shell on right
21-1/4" tall
Larger bottom piece diameter 9-3/4"
Body of shell just above bottom piece 9-1/4"


Shell on left
33-3/4" tall
Metal bottom piece diameter 12-1/4"
Wood just above it 11-1/2"



If you need any more dimensions, just ask.

On the right, the shell almost fits correctly in a 75mm howitzer packing tube.

OK...I goofed up. The bottom pic of the 4" 50cal is NOT what's shown in the pics above. Here's a pic of it on the right-


The bottom of the shell on the left is this (used chalk to bring out the lettering)-

It reads SHC 3" DUMMY CARTRIDGE MK. 50CAL.
None of these are for sale. I don't know how much they're worth. I paid $5 for the 4" 50cal at a yard sale. Can't remember how much I paid for the 3" 50, but probably not much more than $20. Paid $15 at the Pasadena City College Swap Meet for the all wood dummy shell (which I don't know what it's for).

Are you able to tell me more about the lettering on both the 3" and 4" 50cals? What's SHC? On the 4", the lettering around the primer and UBS?

3inch 50cal is worth $50 to $75.00 was used on Navy DE WWII. The 4inch 50cal $100 & UP.
