This walked in to the store the other day, and was wondering what it is ...looking at similar design..am thinking CW era and hoping someone could positively ID it...about 9 inches tall, and about 4 inches diameter

WW1-WW2, probably the latter. It had a copper driving band that is missing. The hole in the base is probably for a tracer compound. With exact dimensions, we can probably tell what size the round was. (75mm, 3 inc, 155mm, etc).
Value will be pretty low, based on the condition.

ah but it came from Normandy...LOL kidding of course...will most likely become a door stop but thought it cool enough to save from the scrap heap....

I won't be back up to the store for a few weeks to get the dimensions....We have a 75 mm pack howitzer at the museum, just made a projectile for it from aluminum stock and this has a bigger diameter for sure than the 75mm
