Cannon Restoration in Texas???? Who does it?

Post by beltfed34 » Sun Aug 09, 2015 5:53 am

All,
Anyone know of a company or person that takes on cannon restoration projects in Texas or nearby states? Need some refurbishment work on my 3"/50 naval gun that is a little beyond my capabilities. Marshall Morgan in Tn is the go-to guy but he is too far away. I assume Brent Mullins does his in-house but.... Any help appreciated.
TIA,
Austin

Not many DD guys can handle that big of a gun. If you want to go to Az, Hamilton and Sons firearms can take care of you. We have restored several big guns and have experience with the 3"50

Marshall did 2 3" for me. I'm lucky to live relatively close to him.

Karl Kurkley, in Texas, has been doing work on the USS Texas guns as well a several towed pieces. A US Navy 3 Inch 50 should be within his capability. If not, Tom Baily in Atlanta GA is an option.
