37mm AT guns

Does anyone have any idea how many live fireable and transferable M3 and M3a1's are in the US. as a total number of guns? I am talking about a good condition, take it out and fire it at any time good quality gun.
Either excellent original or totally restored one. ?
Thank you for your thoughts!

Total number of guns in private hands in the US should be around 100. Approx. 50 were imported from South America in the 90's. The remainder are reclaimed monument guns. Probably 50 of these are registered DD's. My guess. Worth what you paid for the information.

Thanks for the reply. I was asked this question at last weekends shoot. We were all estimating some where around 40- 50 or so also. Glad we were in the ballpark.
I hear there are loads of these and ammo still down in south america. Too bad we can't get them back in the country. They sure are fun to shoot and make the perfect
Jeep accessory.

I think 100 is too high for shootable good condition M3 or M3A1s. My guess is closer to 50-60 based on powder availability and the shooters I know. There may be 100 towed guns but 50 are with cut rings, tow-behind-the-jeep accessories.
