SOLD 75mm Pack Howitzer crated 3 round cloverleaf bundles
I made these 3 replica bundles for the upcoming WWII tank film Fury.
Each bundle is $old plus UPS ground (figure about $30-40 depending on your location). I have these three to sell.
I made about 100 bundles for the 76mm and 75mm Sherman Gun that were all consumed by the film. (whatever survived was sold off to the British re-enactors/collectors at the end of the production). I’ve included a photo here of a few of those crates on set.
These bundles are stained the proper reddish brown introduced mid-war. The markings, including the AIC, are based on ORD 11 SNL R-1 specs and some photos of originals.
They are the correct length and size.
These 75 HOW bundles are picture perfect - built to be used intact for displays. These are steel banded just as they would have been leaving the arsenal. The tubes inside do not have embossed endcaps, and the inner cloverleaf bundle is not held together by a long bolt. The cloverleafs themselves are vacu-formed ABS replicas of an original item. Left banded and assembled like this, they will enhance any 75 HOW display or fill out the “ammo load” you MBT trailer guys are looking for.
Thankfully, they only weigh about 16 pounds.
Please PM here if you’d like a crate, include your shipping zipcode, and I’ll get back to you with specifics. I prefer paypal, but happy to take checks from G members.
Thanks

Interesting to know there were some made - thought there must have been - but only ever saw the 75mm Gun ones for sale in the UK.
Pity - would have been great to have got one of the 75mm How ones.
Will have to settle for real cloverleaf bundles instead...
Tim

Re: FS: 75mm Pack Howitzer crated 3 round bundles
Hi Tim,
I'll likely make a handful more of these over the course of the summer since I have some more spare cloverleafs from Fury.
These three bundles never made it to England. The film's production designer ordered a couple dozen of my two-round 105mm HOW crates for a particular sequence. Those were made in quantity, shipped to England, and got sold off after the production wrapped (although I think a few went to the Bovington Tank Museum - as did samples of each of my crates made for the film).
Ultimately, the 75 HOW crates were not needed, so they stayed behind here at the Arcadia Ordnance Depot and missed the big party in the mud.
I hope those 76G, 75G, 105H, ration boxes and various small arms crates that the production sold off will be circulating for quite a while amongst UK/Euro collectors. I'm looking forward to seeing them at some War & Peace displays! (my favorites were the 30 cal and 50 cal wire bound crates with the ammo cans of belted MG ammo)
Functional/practical 75mm HOW tubes are my next project.
Thanks
RL

Re: SOLD 75mm Pack Howitzer crated 3 round bundles
Rob, I'd be interested too in a couple of the Howitzer bundles, the wood only, have the fiber tubes, let me know please if you make some more, shipping could be combined with Tim.
I have only seen these before in a museum!! Just spoke to the guy who bought all the Fury props in the UK, and he told me about the 105 and other Sherman ones!
Thanks,
Lex Schmidt

Pity they never wanted 75mm Pack Howitzers - was ready to roll with mine!RobL wrote:Hi Tim,

Might be interested in a 75mm HOW crate for the collection - depends on costs
Definitely interested in repro 75mm HOW tubes - would need them to have removable caps, capable of taking shells and cases, and the caps be pressed with the relevant data... obviously again, subject to price - as do already have several original tubes.
Cheers
Tim
