I can get my hands on a complete 75mm high explosive round (projectile and casing) for the KwK 42 gun in very nice condition for $1200. I have never paid this much for any tank round in my collection. German 88mm complete HE rounds for the KwK 36 (Tiger tank) are going for $450 in the US. However, I have never seen a Panther round for sale - ever. I need your feedback on whether it is worth it. Anyone have one for sale for less?
Thanks for your help.

Re: Value of Compete HE Round for Panther Tank
Even if the round was stone mint and matching dates....even in the U.S. I would say that is a bit expensive for a 7,5cm Panther round. Without a picture it is tough, but I'd say $500-$750 range. I sold a complete 8,8cm KWK43 HE King Tiger round that was in really nice shape for $1K a few years ago.

Thanks. I posted the same info on the British Ordnance Collectors Board and heard the same message. Panther rounds with original paint are going for 250 Euros in Europe. $500 would be absolute top dollar in the US.

Agreed - seems high for any round, especially for one that they made so many of.
But the problem with buying from Europe is the risk....

For comparison, I purchased a complete dug (inert: AP projectile with empty casing and C/22 primer) 7,5cm Panther round about 5 years ago. It is pitted overall but has really cool shrapnel damage through the casing from the Panther being hit. I paid $150 for it.
