Re: German and Japanese Artillery?
Value depends on paperwork.
The 25mm may be worth 12K or 20K depending on condition and papers.
The Japanese 70mm may be worth 6-8K (demilled) on up to ??25K papered (Cannot remove the breechring on these, so it would have had to have been papered a while back)
Those are SWAG values, as again condition is not really known, nor papering.
Of the two, a collector would be able to find parts for the 25mm (French) more readily than the Japanese 70mm, and the 25mm can be towed for displays and parades. The 70mm cleans up nicely and makes a decent office gun, but would have to be manhandled around if taken out for shooting (if it was ever in operational condition with papers, etc)
Is that helpful?
Now take them to PAWN Stars or one of the reality show, then you can get them to say they are worth 50K plus and over 100K becuse there were only a handlful made, etc. Anyone can make up a story though.

Re: German and Japanese Artillery?
25MM Puteaux is less than 10 in my opinion. Its a rough gun. looks like its been outside and rusted for a long time. There are some nice puteaux's and Hotchkiss out there in the 10-15 range. This gun isn't that.
Japanese gun is likely a 6-8K gun. There isn't a great demand for Japanese artillery. Hard to find cases and projos. Not a large market of Japanese collectors out there. Think about demand for Nambu pistols versus Lugers.
Both above estimates assume there is paperwork on these guns and they could be restored to full function.
Just my opinion.

If your gun doesn't leak oil, it's time for a bigger gun.

Re: German and Japanese Artillery?
I just bought a French 25mm antitank gun a couple of months ago. It was in better shape than the one pictured, and was sat up to fire 50 cal. banks. I paid $10,500 for mine.
Hope this helps on one of the guns.

Re: German and Japanese Artillery?
I bought a French 25mm antitank 1938 model for $13,000 with .50 insert barrell. Paid to have it reactivated to make it a Destructive Device so it will shoot the 25mm ammo, plus fee to ATF and transportation cost so have about $15,000 for a shootable gun already rebuilt with a good paint job.

Re: German and Japanese Artillery?
Ohio Ordnance has the same type 70mm Japanese Battalion Howitzer with shield for $18,000. But they have been trying to sell it for at least 2 years, maybe more. It is also a C&R gun which makes it worth more also. Good bore and in good working order per the description but I have not found a source for brass cases or projos, otherwise I would love to have it.

Re: German and Japanese Artillery?
Thanks a lot for all the insight, I will be sure to pass it along!
I am actually looking for a 37mm gun to tow behind my Halftrack. If anybody has one and would be interested in some type of trade let me know and I'll see what I can work out.

Yes, and then he will offer $3000.00 and tell the world how much he really wants it for his own.

Re: German and Japanese Artillery?
I'm thinking a 57MM project/restorable gun is in my future to tow behind the track someday.
If anybody has one for sale or might be even interested in a partial trade for one of the above guns please email/PM me!

Re: German and Japanese Artillery?
Respectfully curious to ask how much it went for, seeing how we were estimating across the board?
