Thought I would share a couple of projects that I made for myself.

Nice collection!
Is the propellant suspended in some kind of resin?

The plate would look even cooler with a German cross painted on it! :D

Yes, I took the actual M6 cannon propellent pellets and encapsulated them in resin. Paint still needs to be touched up a bit. Thanks for the comments on the collection.

Where did you find that impact plate?

I shot it. I have two live 37mm guns. The rounds will go through 2 inches. Almost penetrate 3 inches.

So the red is the steel wall of the projectile? and the green is the explosive filler of that round?

If I interpreted that correctly, then this is not only really cool looking, but educational...I didn't have any idea that the projectile's steel wall was so thick and substantial.

Excellent work on that cutaway!

A canister round cutaway would be cool! (if you're taking suggestions on how to consume your next weekend)

Thank you for your comments, and you are correct Rob. Red is the wall of the projectile and green is the explosive filler area. Not much explosive in these.

I would love to section a cannister round, but I only have one. I have 12 HE's with 5 M58 fuzes - so I did not feel too bad about working on one of each.

I need to take a cannister apart some day to see exactly how they are made. I have made several cannister rounds for firing, but I have not perfected them yet. They either come apart as soon as they exit the barrel or stay together as a solid until impact.
