G503 Military Vehicle Message Forums

Hello to all Arty types, Being a non-gun bunny Mechanic type (only a Forward Observer for a short time) what does the M32 look like when it is on a WWII sighting instument? I bought one a few days ago not knowing what it was...I thought it was a cool mechanic tool at first, but after investigating it some I guess it goes on a M70C, M70D and M70F or similar sight aparatus. I would be greatfull if some body had photos to post of a unit in assembled configuration to satisfy my curiousity. I have only been around Mk19's, M2 .50's, 7.62 M60's and 60MM mortars, but nothing bigger than that unless you count AT4's. I thought it would be entertaining to have a scope w/ an M32 as an improvised "eagle eye" in my back pack but didn't know if it was worth it. If any one posts on this I thank you in advance.

but now that you bring it up, i dont remember seeing a mounting spot for the battery pack in ole stu.

See..Thats what I'm talking about. I see pictures of the areas of the light/sight where they "click" together to illuminate the reticle but I haven't seen any photos of where the M32 secures to. Is there an additional "retaining band" that mounts to the scope and light, or maybe a clip/ bracket on the turret wall...hmmm points to ponder.

in the stu theres a bracket welded to the celing in the turret for the Perescope rectile. but nothing like that for Telescope.
next time im in old barb ill have to make sure and look for a bracket.
unless Mr. shoop can aluminate us.
